The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He has created man: 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
