The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He has created man: 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
