The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
