The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
