The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Indeed the Qur'an is a decisive Word. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
