The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
