The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
