Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
