The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
