Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 with a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 To Us they will all return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
