Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
God the Almighty always says the truth.
