Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 labouring, weary, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
