Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty garden, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
