Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 hearing there no babble; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 And cups put in place 14 and arranged cushions 15 and carpets spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
