Al-Shams
The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sun and its noon-time brightness, 1 By the Moon as she follows him; 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 And [by] the night when it covers it 4 By the heaven and That which built it 5 by the earth and Who spread it, 6 and by the soul and that (Power) which designed it 7 And its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right;- 8 Truly he succeeds that purifies it, 9 And miserable is he who hath buried it. 10 TO [THIS] TRUTH gave the lie, in their overweening arrogance, [the tribe of] Thamud, 11 When the basest of them broke forth 12 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a She-camel of Allah! And (bar her not from) having her drink!" 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 He has no fear of its sequel. 15
Almighty Allah's Truth.
