The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and believes in the finest, 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
