The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And affirms goodness, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And rejects the best, 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He verily will be content. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
