The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the morning hours 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased, 3 And indeed the latter is better for you than the former. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 And found you deeply engrossed in His love, so directed you? 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
