In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
