The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 in towering columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
