O you who believe, do not practice usury, charging doubled and redoubled (interest); but have fear of God: you may well attain your goal. 130 Save yourselves from the fire which is prepared for the unbelievers. 131 And pay heed unto God and the Apostle, so that you might be graced with mercy. 132 ۞ And vie with one another for your Lord's forgiveness and for a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, which has been prepared for the God-fearing, 133 Who expend both in joy and tribulation, who suppress their anger and pardon their fellowmen; and God loves those who are upright and do good, 134 And those who, when they commit an immoral act or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness of their sins and who forgives sins except Allah? And those who do not purposely become stubborn regarding what they did. 135 For such the reward is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath,- an eternal dwelling: How excellent a recompense for those who work (and strive)! 136 [MANY] WAYS of life have passed away before your time. Go, then, about the earth and behold what happened in the end to those who gave the lie to the truth: 137 This (the Quran) is a plain statement for mankind, a guidance and instruction to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 138 So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith. 139 If you have been struck by some misfortune, so they (the disbelievers) too have been struck earlier with the same misfortune; these are the days in which We have allotted turns to people; and so that Allah may make known the believers and may bestow martyrdom to some of you; and Allah does not befriend the unjust. 140 And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers. 141 Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without Allah testing those of you who fought hard (In His Cause) and remained steadfast? 142 You had wished to know death before you faced it (in battle); so now you have seen it before your own eyes. 143

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
