Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 Surely, he will be cast into a Flaming Fire 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
