The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
