Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
