Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
A. L. M. 1 Those are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 Such have guidance from their Lord. Such are the successful. 5 There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. 6 And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. 7 But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, 8 To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
