Al-Anfaal 3 of 10
O Ye who believe! obey Allah and His apostle and turn not away therefrom while ye hearken. 20 Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 If God had seen any good in them He would surely have made them hear. Now even if He makes them hear they will turn away (in obduracy). 23 Believers, obey God and the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know that God stands between man and his heart, and you shall all be gathered in His presence. 24 And fear the Fitnah (affliction and trial, etc.) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment. 25 Recall the time when you (the believers) were only a few suppressed people in the land, afraid of being terrorized by the people. God gave you shelter, supported you with His help, and bestowed on you pure provisions so that perhaps you would give Him thanks. 26 O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you). 27 And know ye that your possessions and your progeny are but a trial; and that it is Allah with Whom lies your highest reward. 28

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
