The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
