Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
