The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
AlifLaamMeem. 1 Allah There is no god but He, the Living, the Sustainer. 2 He has sent the Book (Quran) to you (Muhammad) in all Truth. It confirms the original Bible. He revealed the Torah and the Gospel 3 aforetime, as a guidance unto mankind, and it is He who has bestowed [upon man] the standard by which to discern the true from the false. Behold, as for those who are bent on denying God's messages - grievous suffering awaits them: for God is almighty, an avenger of evil. 4 Nothing in the earth and in the heavens is hidden from Allah. 5 It is He who shapes you in your mothers' wombs as He wills. There is no god except Him, the Almighty, the Wise. 6 He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding. 7 (They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower." 8 Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise." 9
