The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a Great Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A written record, 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 upon couches gazing. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
