The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
