The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
