Behold, thy Lord called Moses: "Go to the people of iniquity,- 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 Go to the Pharaoh and tell him: 'We bring a message from the Lord of all the worlds 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
