The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." 2 They also gave the lie to (the splitting asunder of the moon) and only followed their desires. Yet everything is destined to reach an end. 3 They have certainly received the kind of news in which there is a lesson and strong words of wisdom, 4 which are full of wisdom; but the warnings do not help. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". 8 ۞ The people of Noah denied [the truth] before them. They belied Our messenger saying, "He is mad!" He was rebuffed, 9 So he prayed to his Lord: "I am helpless, deliver me." 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end. 12 But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum, 13 and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude. 14 And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 15 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? 16 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 Which snatched away men as though they were palm trees pulled out by the roots. 20 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 21 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember? 22
