The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the Visited House, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is it magic or do you not still see? 15 Endure it [now]! But [whether you] bear yourselves with patience or without patience, it will be the same to you: you are but being requited for what you were wont to do." 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with all kinds of fruit and meat, whatever they may desire. 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
