The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 weigh with an even balance 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He. said: My Lord is the Best Knower of that which ye work. 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 191
