And who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah or denies His signs? Undoubtedly, the unjust will never succeed. 21 And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day We will gather them all together; then We will say to those who associated others with Allah, "Where are your 'partners' that you used to claim [with Him]?" 22 There will then be (left) no subterfuge for them but to say: "By Allah our Lord, we were not those who joined gods with Allah." 23 Consider, how they have lied against their own souls and have lost their gods. 24 And of them there are some who listen to you; but We have set veils on their hearts, so they understand it not, and deafness in their ears; if they see every one of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) they will not believe therein; to the point that when they come to you to argue with you, the disbelievers say: "These are nothing but tales of the men of old." 25 And they bar others therefrom and go far away from it: but they destroy none but themselves, and perceive it not. 26 If thou couldst but see [them] when they will be made to stand before the fire and will say: "Oh, would that we were brought back [to life]: then we would not give the lie to our Sustainer's messages, but would be among the believers!" 27 Nay, it has become manifest to them what they had been concealing before. But if they were returned (to the world), they would certainly revert to that which they were forbidden. And indeed they are liars. 28 And they say: There is nothing but our life of this world, and we shall not be raised. 29 And couldst thou see what time they shall be held before their Lord? He will say: is this not real? They will say: aye! by our Lord! He will say: taste then the torment for ye have been disbelieving. 30
