We created man -- We know the promptings of his soul, and are closer to him than his jugular vein -- 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 He utters not a word but there is by him a watcher at hand. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 And every soul came, along with a herder and a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His companion will say: Our Lord! I did not lead him into inordinacy but he himself was in a great error. 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 My word shall not be changed, nor am I in the least unjust to the servants. 29
