The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
