Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
