The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruit of what they select 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches; 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
