The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
