The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is your return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
