And We have not created the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose; this is what the disbelievers assume; therefore ruin is for the disbelievers, by the fire. 27 shall We treat those who believe and do good works the same as those who spread corruption in the land; shall We treat the pious the same as the wicked? 28 A Book We have sent down to thee, Blessed, that men possessed of minds may ponder its signs and so remember. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 Recall what time there were presented unto him, at eventide, coursers swift-footed. 31 And he said: "Alas! I did love the good (these horses) instead of remembering my Lord (in my 'Asr prayer)" till the time was over, and (the sun) had hidden in the veil (of night). 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said, 'My Lord, forgive me, and give me a kingdom such as may not befall anyone after me; surely Thou art the All-giver.' 35 So, We subjected to him the wind, it blew gently to his order whithersoever he willed, 36 And [also] the devils [of jinn] - every builder and diver 37 As also others bound together in fetters. 38 "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." 39 And indeed for him in Our presence are, surely, proximity and an excellent abode. 40
