A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Meem, Sad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 Follow that which is sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians other than Him; little do you remember. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 And when Our scourge fell upon them their only cry was: 'We are indeed transgressors.' 5 Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the Book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 And certainly We have established you in the earth and made in it means of livelihood for you; little it is that you give thanks. 10
