Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
