And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
