Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
