There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We have placed therein gardens of the date-palm and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 They have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day -- and they are left in darkness. 37 And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 unless it be by an act of mercy from Us and a grant of life for a [further span of] time. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 [And they are unaware that] nothing awaits them beyond a single blast [of God's punishment,] which will overtake them while they are still arguing - [against resurrection]: 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
