The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman). 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
